The IIHA are pleased to announce details of the 2012 IIHF International Coaching Symposiums. This year, three different symposiums will take place during two IIHF World Championships and will cover areas including youth hockey, senior hockey and women’s hockey.
The different symposiums are as follows:
•2012 IIHF International Women’s Coaching Symposium will “highlight and deal with the important issues relating to coaching female players.” This symposium will take place during the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division 1 Group A in Ventspils, Latvia from 31st March – 1st April 2012.
•2012 IIHF International Youth Coaching Symposium will be orientated around youth hockey and will feature “themes based on the fundamentals of Finnish ice hockey – Game Sense, Character and Skating.” This symposium will take place during the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Helsinki, Finland from 4th – 6th May 2012.
•2012 IIHF International Coaching Symposium will be orientated around senior hockey and will again feature “themes based on the fundamentals of Finnish ice hockey.” This symposium will take place during the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Helsinki, Finland from 11TH – 13th May 2012.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION PARTICIPANT SUBSIDY
The IIHA are also pleased to announce that the IIHF are once again offering the IIHA the opportunity to send two applicants to the “IIHF International Women’s Coaching Symposium” in Ventspils, Latvia from 31st March – 1st April 2012 and two applicants to the “IIHF International Youth Coaching Symposium” in Helsinki, Finland from 4th – 6th May 2012 and subsidise the symposium registration fees. Accordingly, the IIHA would like to offer this out to any of our members who might be interested in attending either subsidy and would like to avail of the subsidy.
There will be a selection process by the IIHA to choose its two candidates for each symposium so anyone interested in applying to the IIHA to avail of the National Association Participant Subsidy for either symposium should consult the corresponding notices currently available on www.iiha.org. They are as follows:

PLEASE NOTE: It is possible to register for and attend the symposiums without the National Association Participant Subsidy by following the information available on www.iihf.com.
Applying for the subsidy from the IIHF through the IIHA is not a guarantee that you will be able to attend the conference and if you register for the conference yourself and pay your fee, you will not be in a position to then avail of the subsidy.
