Regrettably, the IIHA said goodbye to Ashley Moore last month when she informed the Executive Committee and Directors that she would be returning home to Canada. With this, Ashley tendered her resignation from the positions of Women’s Development Officer and General Manager for the Women’s Irish National Team.
Ashley’s involvement with the IIHA will be sorely missed as she has been heavily involved with ice hockey in Ireland since the inaugural season of the IIHL in 2007 / 2008 season. During her time in Ireland, Ashley has acted not only as the IIHA’s Women’s Development Officer and General Manager to the Women’s Irish National Team; she has also served as the General Manager of the Dublin Rams in the IIHL and played for both the Dundalk Bulls Ladies and Belfast Ice Vixens.
The position of General Manager for the Women’s Irish National Team will now be filled by Gary Harvey who took over in the middle of December. Ashley has assisted Gary in what was a very smooth changeover to ensure that preparations for the team were not disrupted.
The IIHA would like to thank Ashley for her time and hard work with the Association over the last number of years and on behalf of everyone, we would like to wish her all the best for the future.
