In the best of the action in the Irish League the Dublin teams being the Wolves and Rams put on a great advert for the game of hockey in Ireland.
Tyler May took the lead for the Wolves after just 32 seconds followed by another Wolves score from Roman Brooke all in the first five minutes.
The Rams got to work scoring five unanswered goals in the first period from Willie Morrison, Aaron Murphy and a brace from Cape Hunter then finally Brad Heraghty.
You might thing this would kill of the Wolves ambitions but think again as they score again after 34 seconds from the drop of the puck in the second. Netting again midway through the middle stanza from Andrew Duncan to bring them back to just one goal behind.
Game on in the third period with all to play for in the last twenty minutes, which proved to action filled. Rams made 6-4 through Brad Heraghty however the Wolves Andrew Duncan put them right back in contention at 6-5.
The Rams then unleashed another four-goal outburst to seal the game. Heraghty getting his hat trick, Cape Hunter going one better, another from Morrison and Aaron Cuskeran.
The score line ended lopsided but it was a very entertaining game until the last five minutes. Peter Ting the Wolves coach stated after the game “ We were five key players missing and could have won this game if they were here.”
