Dundalk Bulls v Flyers I.H.C. – Game Report

Period 1

After falling behind 5-0 the Fyers did an excellent job of stepping up the defence and gave their goalkeeper a much needed reprieve from the firing squad he faced in the first half of the period. Keeping the Bulls from scoring was a tall order but the Flyers defense was up to the task.

Period 2

The Flyers were able to hold off the Bulls for 8 minutes and 30 seconds of the second period when #9 Kenny Redmond added a goal with an assist going to #15 Milosz LaBudda. Flyers netminder Dermot Carrey made a brilliant diving save 11 minutes into the and another save about 30 seconds later. 13:17 the puck slowly slid in just out of the goalkeepers reach for the seventh Bulls goal of the night, scored by #9 Kenny Redmond, unassisted. #14 Bill McKiernan, assisted by #16 Eric Hogberg scored the 8th Bulls goal of the evening. The Bulls as always exhibited excellent puck control and crisp, concise passing.

Period 3

The Bulls opened up the scoring in the 3rd period with a goal by #8 Marek Bailly with an assist going to #20 Peter Pucek. Bringing the Bulls into double figures with an unassisted goal was #16 Eric Hogberg. The Bulls continued to play very physical hockey. Nearly 13:00 into the period #17 Sean Dooley scored the Bulls 11th from about 10 feet from the blue line. The Bulls made it 12-0 on an unassisted goal by #12 Alexandrs Kjodorous. The Bulls made it a baker’s dozen with yet another goal by #9 Kenny Redmond with Eric Hogberg getting credit for the assist. A great deal of credit in the victory goes to the Bulls goalkeeping.
