Flyers 10 Bruins 7 Match Report

In a real shoot out between two very similar teams the Flyers downed the Belfast Bruins 10-7 in a high scoring end-to-end game over the weekend in the IIHL encounter.

The Flyers opened the scoring at 3.18 through Mike Daciw, assisted by Dave Donaldson. The Bruins came right back in less than a minute to tie the game through Michael Wandschura, assisted by Steve Hamill. No sooner had the cheering stopped than Gareth Martin put the Bruins ahead unassisted for a brief lead of 3 minutes.

The Flyers tied the score through Emil Kacir with an assist from Sandor Szabi . Michael Wandschura tied the game up unassisted, shortly followed by Gareth Martin’s second of the night to give Belfast a 4 – 2 lead.

Stephen Cooper got one back for the Flyers assisted by Donaldson to end the period with a 4 – 3 score line in the Bruins favour

If the first period belonged to the Bruins, then the second belonged to the Flyers. Tying the game with only 19 seconds played in the middle stanza through Donaldson, followed by Emil Kacir, there followed by 2 more from Donaldson to give him his hat trick with the only marker the Bruins could muster was from Stevie Hamill.

Dean Kelly opened the scoring for the Flyers in the third with another goal from Steven Cooper, before Donaldson got his 4th of the game and the Flyers tenth. Michael Wandschura and Jonathan Keaney got goals for the Bruins to close the gap, but it was too little too late.
