Hawks B Take on the Bulls Ladies

Two more teams will line out in the IIHL Development Division this Wednesday, 14th November. The Latvian Hawks B will take on the Dundalk Bulls Ladies. Face off is at 8:30 p.m. and as of course the game will be at the Dundalk Ice Dome.

The Bulls Ladies are the only all women’s team taking part in the league this year and have made some great strides over the past 11 months. The majority of their players hail from Dundalk and as is the case with the majority of players in the Development Division only recently picked up the game. They, like most, started off just ice skating but after attending the Learn To Play sessions they quickly became enthralled in the fastest game on earth. Soon after a large number of girls started to attend those sessions, a few of the girls took it upon themselves to set up the Ladies section of the Dundalk Bulls. They were helped by Dundalk Bulls Senior team player Vytautas Lukosevicius who has now become their coach and has done some tremendous work with the team both on and off the ice in developing their skills. The Ladies will be led by their captain Sonya McEaneaney and assistant captain Elaine McCann. They are two of the more avid fans of the game and have got as much hockey and ice skating in over the past 11 months to improve their skills. Elaine, as the majority of people in Dundalk will tell you, has the type of enthusiasm for the game that most people wish they had. While Sonya is the type of person that when determined to do something, she will get it done. So expect them to lead their team into this game with expectations of winning but more importantly having a good time.

The Latvian Hawks B, are pretty much in the same boat as everybody else. The majority of their players are either new to the sport or picking it up again after a long lay off. And as we know the Latvian club are bringing a fantastic atmosphere to IIHL in support of their top team. Their fans come and give the team every opportunity to win. Expect them to do the same for the Hawks B as there really is a community atmosphere to that club. The Hawks players shall be bolstered by a few players who can play such as Jana Grekena. They will come confident of getting a win but they will know that they will have the support of their fans.

So come along and enjoy what should prove to be a great game between two teams that will be looking to enjoy every moment of it. Face off is at 8:30 p.m. and the game is at the Dundalk Ice Dome. For more details, contact the Dundalk Ice Dome via www.dundalkicedome.com or Tel: 042 933 7256.
