Officiating

The IIHA has a number of on-ice and off-ice officials, from referees to linesman, timekeeper to scorekeepers, and a number of volunteers give up their time to help and promote the sport of ice hockey here in Ireland.

Vytautas Lukosevicius is currently the Referee in Chief (RIC) for the IIHA and to develop the standard of officiating in Ireland. Over the last few years the IIHF have awarded officials within the IIHA international licences including A, B, C Licenses both for referees and linesman. The IIHA also has a number of female officials, some of whom have officiating on the international stage.

A number of referees and linesmen who officiate in Ireland have been internationally recognised and have officiated in IIHF World championships events to Continental Cup games along with a number of other competitions worldwide.

In recent times, the IIHA has established a working relationship between a number of international bodies to help develop officiating.

The IIHA welcomes anyone who would like to learn the rules of officiating in the coolest game on earth and also welcomes anyone who would like to get involved in officiating to contact the IIHA Referee in Chief, Mr. Vytautas Lukosevicius via email at vytautaslukosevicius@iiha.org
