IIHA Membership & Insurance Fees: UPDATE

On the 25th November 2010, the IIHA posted information relating to the IIHA Membership & Insurance Fees for the current season. This information can be found as follows: https://www.iiha.org/news/article/view/id/477

Since then, we have received input and suggestions from some teams as well as from individuals who raised concerns about the level of fees considering the circumstances which we find ourselves in at present.

The IIHA have taken on board the input and suggestions received and have decided to reduce the fees accordingly. However, the IIHA have at all times had to consider the impact of any such reductions on the work and operations of the association both now and in the future.

It is important that any decision regarding the reduction of fees made now does not affect either the short term or long term viability of the association. This must always be a consideration and has been over the last few weeks concerning the IIHA Membership & Insurance Fees.

Therefore, it has been decided that the fees for the current season be changed to the following:

PLAYERS OVER 18
IIHA Membership Fee = €15 (reduction of €10)
IIHA Insurance Fee = €15 (reduction of €15)

PLAYERS UNDER 18
IIHA Membership Fee = n/a
IIHA Insurance Fee = €5

NON-PLAYING MEMBERS
IIHA Membership Fee = €15 (reduction of €10)

TEMPORARY ONE DAY MEMBERSHIP
Per Player Per Day/Event = €5

This allows the following three options to all members of the IIHA to renew their membership plus allow those who do not wish to become full members to still be able to play this season.

OPTION 1
An individual may take out the IIHA Membership (€15) and Insurance Fee (€15) and this will allow them to become a member of the IIHA (including everything that goes with it i.e. voting rights subject to them meeting the applicable criteria). It will also cover them to play in any IIHA sanctioned events (both ice hockey and inline hockey) for the remainder of the current season.

OPTION 2
An individual may take out the IIHA Membership (€15) and this will allow them to become a member of the II HA (including everything that goes with it i.e. voting rights subject to them meeting criteria). However, it will not cover them to play in any IIHA sanctioned event (both ice hockey and inline hockey) for the remainder of the season. Instead, the individual would be required to pay an additional fee (€5) per day/event that they wish to participate in i.e. Temporary One Day Membership.

OPTION 3
An individual may decide that they do not wish to take out the IIHA Membership (€15) and IIHA Insurance Fee (€15) but they may still wish to take part in IIHA ice hockey and inline hockey events this season. They will not be a member of the IIHA but they may still take part in IIHA sanctioned events (both ice hockey and inline hockey) provided they pay an additional fee (€5) per day/event that they wish to participate in i.e. Temporary One Day Membership.

PLEASE NOTE: Only members who meeting the criteria as set out in the IIHA’s Memorandum & Articles of Association are permitted to vote at the IIHA’s AGM.

Those who do not take out the full IIHA Membership Fee (€15) will not be entitled to vote at and AGM and those who only take out the Temporary One Day Membership (€5) are not members of the IIHA except for that one day they are members. Any Temporary One Day Membership will expire at the end of the applicable day.
