IIHA Officials To Officiate In Elite League Games

The IIHA is pleased to announce that an historic deal has been agreed between the Irish Ice Hockey Association (IIHA), Mr. Andy French and the Elite League.

This agreement means that IIHA officials with IIHF Licences have been given permission to officiate as Linesmen in Elite League games in the Odyssey Arena, Belfast from January 2012.

Commenting on the agreement, President of the IIHA, Mr. William Fay said “I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the IIHA Executive Committee and IIHA Directors to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Andy French and the Elite League for giving IIHA officials with IIHF Licences their permission to officiate as Linesmen in Elite League games in the Odyssey Arena, Belfast from January 2012”.

“This achievement represents an historic venture between the Irish Ice Hockey Association(IIHA)and the Elite League and a unique opportunity for the IIHA officials to prove themselves at the highest level of competitive ice hockey in the U.K. The IIHA Executive Committee and IIHA Directors would like to wish the IIHA officials who have been selected to officiate in the Elite League the very best and we are confident that they will do the IIHA and Irish standard of officiating very proud “.
