The IIHA Referee-in-Chief, Vytas Lukosevicius, travelled to Frankfurt, Germany last weekend to attend the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Global Officiating Summit. This is an bi-annual event organised by the IIHF for the National Governing Bodies of ice hockey to share information and resources, and to grow and improve the standard of officiating.
Speaking about the event Vytas said it was an excellent two-day seminar and a fantastic opportunity to network with other Referee-in-Chiefs. ‘Through this networking I was able to establish important links with other countries and we hope to organise some exchange programmes for our officials in the very near future.’
Vytas further added that he was looking forward to implementing the new 2018-2022 rule book into the IIHA Cross Border Cup and suggested that clubs download it from the IIHF website to become familiar with the changes.
