The IIHA are pleased to announce that an Introduction To Coaching Course will take place in two weeks time on Saturday, 31st July and Sunday, 1st August in conjunction with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. The course will take place at the Fairways Hotel on the Dublin Road, Dundalk, Co. Louth.
We are offering each team an opportunity to send two of their members at no cost. Places will be limited and depending on availability, we will be allowing other members of the IIHA to take part in the course at a cost of €10 per person.
All teams will be contacted in the coming days about their opportunity to send two of their members to this course. If you are interested in attending the course then you should contact your team about the possibility of attending.
However, if you are interested in attending the course not through a team then you should contact Dean Kelly at deankelly@iiha.org. This should include, name, address, age, any club affiliation and current involvement with ice hockey in Ireland.
GENERAL DETAILS
As the IIHA currently aims to introduce a higher standard of coaching by providing coaching courses and education to all of its members’ interested, we are pleased to announce the first step of this with a Introduction To Coaching course in conjunction with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.
This course is aimed at those who would like to become involved in coaching but have no previous experience and also those who have past experience in coaching but would like to brush up on the skills.
This will be a two day course running from approximately 8:30 am to 5:00pm on each day. The bulk of each day will consist of classroom sessions covering a variety of topics including skating, stickhandling, passing, shooting and team tactics. There will even be a questions and answers session at conclusion of the second day.
