Tuesday 13th April
(from Kockelsheuer)
The boys in green landed in Luxembourg after a short 1 hour and 40 minute flight on what you could say was our own private jet. It was very personal indeed! It was a cracker of a flight with no problems! Well there’s always one exception and we’ll have to do something about those shoe snatchers for the return flight!!!
Once we landed, we headed straight down to the Parc Hotel, checked ourselves in and then coach Tibbetts ordered a practice at the rink to get rid of any rustiness. It was just what the doctor ordered as it gave the guys a chance to skate in their new surroundings and get use to the bounce of the boards. It was a good session and most of the guys were ready for bed afterwards.
It’s an early start on Wednesday with a pre-game skate at 10:45 am before we faceoff in our first game of the 2010 IIHF World Championship Division III A. Faceoff is at 8:15 pm (that’s 7:15 pm back in Ireland) and we take on the host nation, Luxembourg. Keep an eye on iihf.com’s live score tracker to track the team’s progress. Also check out the link below to possibly watch the game live and cheer on the boys in green.
I’ll have more info after the game…
