Today was back to normal after having our little break to Helsinki yesterday. As usual we were up at 7:00 am for breakfast. We had about a half an hour back in our rooms before meeting with the rest of the players in our locker room to get ready for our warm up. We did two laps and some stretches.
Today we were training with Sean’s team, Team 2 (The White Team). We hit the ice doing a lot of drills for an hour and a half. After we had finished on the ice we had 15 minutes to take all our gear off and make sure it was all hanging up on our own little space.
Then we did an off-ice practice. We played football for about an hour and a half and then our team was split in half. The group that I was in played handball first before one of our coaches did a lot of physical work with us. We did lots of press-ups and sit-ups. It was hard work!!!
Lunch was then up and it was very nice. After lunch we had a classroom session with the Mentor Coach, Jim Setters from Canada. He talked to us about how important passing and receiving is and showed us some videos on it.
Straight afterwards we had our game against The White Team. The game was very exciting. Into the third period The White Team were leading 4 – 1 until two sudden goals from my team brought us back into the game. Unfortunately, we couldn’t grab the fourth to bring it into a penalty shootout!
After the game we went down to the sauna which was very cool. When we had enough of the sauna we walked to the lake and went swimming. We met for dinner at 8:30 pm. Then Sean and I sat outside talking to Mark and Sonya for a while.
