Ireland in Vierumaki – Day 8

Saturday, 9th July 2011

Today was our last day as a team together. We were woken up at 7:30 and then we met downstairs in Kaskela for some breakfast which everyday was the same.

There was a change in our schedule for today so we had the early ice time training with the blue team. Today on the ice it was all mini games like 1 on 1 mini scrimmages and many more other small games. After we were done on the ice we done a very quick warm down and headed for the showers.

At 2 o’clock we met for lunch which was as usual lovely. After lunch we had some free time which I just stayed in my room. Our team meeting was a little different today, for the closing ceremony every team had to perform a skit which went on for about 2 minutes. So for the team meeting we decided to practice our skit which was the whole team making a human pyramid!

Later on we had our game against the blue team. We started off great being 2-0 up after 1 minute, the first period ended 5-1 to us but by the end of the game the blue team were getting back into it but we managed to hold out to win 8-6. To finish the night instead we had dinner over in the hotel and we attended the closing ceremony were we performed our skit to everyone who participated in the camp.

The camp is officially over 🙁
