The IIHA is delighted to announce that we are sending a Team Ireland U20’s select and development squad to Dundee in Scotland this weekend to take part in the Dundee Stars Spring Classic Ice Hockey Tournament 2011.
The select team, comprised of former and current Irish U18’s international along with upcoming stars, will participate in the popular event at the Dundee Ice Arena this Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May. Throughout the weekend there will be a tournament for each age group which include Under 10’s, Under 14’s and U20’s.
Ireland U20’s select will take on the Fife Falcons U20’s, Murrayfield U20’and the Dundee Stars U20’s over the two day tournament where a round robin format will decide the winners of the tournament on Sunday evening.
This trip comes after Ireland didn’t have the minimum number of players required to ice an U20’s side in the IIHF World championships and last year the IIHA promised that they would organise a trip to the UK for the team. Jim Pepper is General Manager of the team with Kenny Redmond coaching the squad throughout the weekend.
The following is the roster for the Ireland U20’ select that will travel to Scotland this weekend.
