Learn to Play

The Irish Ice Hockey Association is always looking to develop and promote the sport of ice hockey in Ireland and there is no better way to do so than suiting people in gear, giving them a stick and skates and teaching them how to skate and play hockey.

The Irish Ice Hockey Association at every opportunity is always looking to run Learn to Play Hockey programs and has hosted such session in the past at the various locations around the country; including Northern Ireland. The facilities at seasonal and temporary rinks are also taking advantage of by the IIHA as the Association runs a number of Learn To Play sessions at these rinks.

Fully trained instructors are on hand to teach you how to play the “Coolest Game on Earth” and full equipment is also provided by the IIHA.

Currently there is no Learn To Play sessions in operation but don’t forget to check back soon for the next Learn To Play program near you.

You Skated at Christmas ! You’ve seen it on T.V. ! But did you know that you can learn to play Ice Hockey here in Dublin !!!

The Irish Ice Hockey Association, in conjunction with Charlestown on Ice, are proud to announce that this summer you can learn to play Ice Hockey, just off the M50 motorway in Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas.

Fully trained Hockey instructors including current and past international players will be on hand to show you how they play “The Coolest Game on Earth”. Up to thirty full kits of protective equipment will be available and a weekly one hour session will run every Thursday commencing 16/07/2009 from 5.15 – 6.15 p.m. but places are limited.

Courses will continue all summer long at the brand spanking new NHL sized Ice Pad on Dublin’s Northside with ample car parking spaces and lots of great shops for Mum to browse in or have a coffee while the kids learn to play. With the disappointing summer we are having, again this year, there is no better way to entertain and occupy 6 to 16 year old boys AND girls in the healthy sporting environment of the Charlestown Marquee. At a cost of only € 10 euro per session, thanks to the support and sponsorship of the IIHA, it is also wonderful value for money.

So get a glide in your stride, get some ice in your life, and get them over to Charlestown, the coolest place to be this Summer !

NOTE: The Learn to Play program has had a time change of 5.15 p.m. to 6.15 p.m.

We confirm that our organisation complies with The Governance Code for the Community, Voluntary, and Charitable Sector in Ireland.
