In the other IIHL game this weekend the Flyers IHC are coming together quite nicely with an excellent victory over the Hawks 6-4.
The Flyers IHC got of to a great start, scoring after only 5.58 of the opening period through Szabi Sander unassisted. The Hawks tied the game up 1-1 on 10.49 with a score from Gints Ginters, assisted by Yitalis Cereiakovs.
The Flyers scored theirs and Sanders second of the night at 13.01 with an assist from Dean Kelly. Only three second later Sandor got his hat trick and the Flyers third assisted by Dave Donaldson making the score 3-1 Dublin.
The Hawks got one back on 16.03 from Aigars Brencis with an assist from Mark Bowes. Aigars got his second and the Hawks third, fifty-one seconds into the second period with an assist from Ginters.
It was the Flyers turn scoring in the third period and their fifth of the game at 46.21 from Sandor giving him four on the night with another assist from Dean Kelly. Aigars got the Hawks fourth and his hat trick on 52.42 making the game really tight until Dave Donaldson scored the Flyers insurance goal, which secured the victory 6-4 for the Flyers.
Another very exciting game from the Dundalk Ice Dome and shows the teams are slowly starting to reach parity with few lopped side victories now taking place.
