GENERAL INFORMATION
The IIHA will be holding open tryouts for the U18 Irish National Team on Saturday, 27th August 2011 at The Dundonald International Ice Bowl in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
This will be an open tryout for any players interested in playing for the U18 Irish National Team in the 2011/2012 season. The U18 Irish National Team will either take part in the IIHF World Championship or in an alternative competition at some point in season. As such, the IIHA will use this tryout as part of determining whether we have a sufficient number of players who can commit to the programme for Ireland to take part in the World Championship.
All players who currently have or are eligible for an Irish passport are welcome to attend the open tryout in the respective category. A photocopy of the valid Irish passport should be presented at registration. Only players who are 15 years of age on or before the 11th March 2012 or who turn 18 after 31st December 2011 may tryout for the team.
PLEASE NOTE: The IIHA with the IIHF’s approval will be reviewing its participation in this Championship at the end of August. The IIHA will at this time establish whether we have a sufficient number of players who can commit to the programme enabling Ireland to commit to the Championship. Should it be the case that we cannot commit to this Championship, the IIHA will organise an alternative event/tournament for the team to take part in.
