At 4:00 am this morning, the IIHA’s selected participants began their journey to Vierumaki, Finland where they will take part in the 2011 IIHF Hockey Development Camp.
Sean Coleman, Jordan Donnelly, Kenneth Redmond, Rob Schistad, Mark Pepper, Jamie Cummins and Sonya McEneaney will all take part in a variety of programmes at the Camp. In fact, they will only be 7 out of over 400 participants from 50 different countries across 5 continents taking part in 8 different programmes.
This is the tenth IIHF Hockey Development Camp and it is expected to once again build on the previous year’s success. Last year, the Camp catered for women’s hockey and it was a tremendous success with Ireland being well represented. This year, things are expected to be even better.
Each of Ireland’s participants will have a memorable time gaining information, experience and new friends. All of the goings on at the camp can be followed on www.iiha.org as Ireland’s participants keep us up to date with regular blogs.
While the camp’s official webpage (http://www.iihf.com/iihf-home/sport/camps.html) will contain all the most up to date information.
We will also have a special feature with each of the participants throughout the next two weeks so stay tuned to www.iiha.org!
