Successful IIHA and Danish Ice Hockey Association Coaching Course

The IIHA Coaching Course in conjunction with the Danish Ice Hockey Association held at the weekend proved to be a great success.

The two-day course was held at the The Boyne Valley Hotel & Country Club, Drogheda, and also an on-ice session was held at the Castleknock Ice Rink.

Course participants included representatives from many ice hockey clubs and teams in Ireland, including the Clovers, Flyers, Hawks, Whalers, Riot, Tridents, Molly Malones, Wolves, Ducks and Navan Bulls.

Two top-class Danish coaching instructors arrived in Ireland, in conjunction with the IIHA, to conduct the course.

Mr. Ulrik Larsen, Sports Director of the Danish Ice Hockey Association and Mr. Per Holten MØller, who has over 50 years’ experience in ice hockey and held many coaching positions in Denmark, headed the course.

The course has proved to be a huge success and is another step in educating and developing the sport of ice hockey on the island of Ireland.

All participants have agreed that the course provided brilliant ideas, skills, advice and motivation.

The IIHA would like to thank all involved in the coaching course.
