Regrettably, changes to the coaching staff for the upcoming 2011 IIHF World Championship Division II Group B in Zagreb, Croatia must be announced.
Assistant Coaches, Mr. Kenny Redmond and Mr. Robert Schistad, are unable to travel to Croatia due to their own work commitments outside of ice hockey.
Both have been heavily involved with the team this season and were integral to the team winning a Gold Medal at the 2010 IIHF World Championship Division III Group A in Kockelscheuer, Luxembourg. They’ve continued their hard work by taking over and working together with the U18 Irish National Team this season.
Senior Irish National Team General Manager, Mr. Tony Griffin, would like to thank both Kenny and Rob for all of their hard work this season. Both remain an integral part of the National Team programme and will continue to assist in developing the standard of hockey here in Ireland.
The Head Coach of the team, Mr Jim Tibbetts, has called up a replacement coach to work alongside him in Croatia. Mr. Stephen Greeley, an experienced coach of Boston College in the ACHA, will now act as the Assistant Coach for the team in Croatia.
