Team Ireland’s Travel Plans Severely Disrupted

The Senior Irish National Team was due to return to Ireland earlier today having just won gold at the 2010 IIHF World Championship Division III A.

Unfortunately, the team’s travel plans have been severely disrupted as the volcanic ash plume continues to drift south and east of Iceland.

The cloud of volcanic ash that has covered much of Northern Europe still is not clearing and it remains unsafe for planes to take to the skies.

As it stands, the General Manager of the team is looking at alternative ways for the team to return safely to Ireland.

However, the earliest possible flight may not be available until Friday and even then it is unlikely. Therefore, the team are looking at the possibility of a coach and ferry journey home. This would mean that the team would return to Ireland at the earliest of Tuesday or Wednesday.

We will do our best to keep everyone up to date with any progress that becomes available on when the possible return of the team is.
