The Resignation of General Secretary of the IIHA, Mark Bowes

The IIHA would like to inform our members that effective from today, Mark Bowes has voluntarily stepped down from his position as General Secretary for the Irish Ice Hockey Association.

Mark has accepted an employment opportunity in the UK, and felt that it was in the best interests of the IIHA to vacate the position and allow another take up the responsibilities with the Irish Ice Hockey Association.

Mark is a long standing member of the Irish Ice Hockey Association and his tenure with the current Association Mark has been instrumental to the continued growth of Ice Hockey in Ireland, his experience and natural networking talent have led to an extremely successful awareness campaign which was carried on national media, as well as a very successful IIHF congress, which saw Ireland retain its status with the International Federation.

From the Executive, the directors, officers and all the IIHA’s members we would like to wish Mark every success on his new adventure, and thank him wholeheartedly for his contribution to Irish Ice Hockey.

The IIHA executive are explore options one filling the vacant role, and as soon as a decision has been made we will inform our members.
