Tibbetts, Griffin & Pepper Remain On Board


The IIHA are pleased to announce that the Jim Tibbetts and Tony Griffin will remain as Head Coach and General Manager of the Senior Irish National Team for the 2010 / 2011 season. Both are delighted to remain on board for the season ahead in what could be one of Ireland’s toughest to date. Jim and Tony have been planning for the tough season for the last few months and aim to make this one of the best prepared season to date.

Having won a gold medal at the 2010 IIHF World Championship Division III A in Luxembourg last April, the Senior Irish National Team finds itself in Group B of Division II. The Championship will take place in Zagreb where Ireland will face off against Romania, Iceland, Bulgaria, China and the host nation Croatia 10th April and 16th April.


The IIHA are also pleased to announce that Jim Pepper will remain as the General Manager for the U18 Irish National Team. In his first year as General Manager, Jim was instrumental in making sure the team was one the best prepared Irish teams to ever go away. The IIHA are delighted to have Jim on board again this season and he will couple his responsibilities with the U18 team with that of the U20s as he was recently appointed to the position of General Manager for the U20 Irish National Team.

Jim will have his hands full again this season as the U18 Irish National Team head back to Mexico again this season. However, this time its Mexico City that Jim and his troops will be landing in as they face Iceland, South Africa, Israel and host nation Mexico between 14th March and 19th March.
