The IIHA must announce the resignation of Wayne Hopkins from his position of Director of Player Operations and as a member of the Executive Committee.
After much consideration, Wayne has tendered his resignation and the Executive Committee and Directors have regrettably accepted this. We will now begin the process of looking for a replacement in Wayne’s position as the Director of Player Operations.
Wayne has requested that the following message be passed onto the members:
“Dear Member,
Due to recent changes to my work responsibilities and the arrival of a new member to my family it is with deep regret that I have taken the decision to step down from the position of Director of Player Operations on the Executive Committee of the Irish Ice Hockey Association.
I have not taken this decision lightly and if I could afford to give the time required of this position I would love to continue my work within the Executive Committee of the Irish Ice Hockey Association at a time when our association is making huge leaps forward and laying a solid foundation from which our association can build on for a successful future.
At this time I am happy to say I am still committed to the IIHA and fully support the current executive and will help out in any way I can. I will also fully support the person appointed to the position of Director of Player Operations and will continue to assist him/her as long as required.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the other members of the executive, William, Dean, Jonathon and Aigars for their support over the past few weeks and congratulate them on the progress they have made on behalf of Irish Hockey over the past ten months.
Finally, I would like to thank all the members who offered support to the executive and I over the past twelve months and I apologise to all the members who voted for me at the elections in November 2009.
