Weekend Preview

There is a jam packed weekend of ice hockey ahead this coming weekend. There is a full programme of games happening in the IIHL, IIHL Recreational Division and the IIHL Development Division.

First up on Saturday at 7:45 pm, the Dundalk Bulls take on the Charlestown Chiefs in what is the first game of the IIHL since December. It promises to be an entertaining game so come along and enjoy the great atmosphere that both sets of fans provide at the Dundalk Ice Dome.

Then on Sunday evening starting at 8:30 pm, four of the teams in the IIHL Development take to the ice with the Dundalk Bulls Ladies take on the Belfast Ice Vixens in an all women’s clash. The Ice Vixens are currently leading the other women’s teams in the IIHL Development Division having already beaten the Bulls Ladies twice prior to the Christmas Break as well as defeating the Cubs two weeks ago. Following this game, the Raiders play host to the Cubs in what will be a thrilling encounter.

Monday evening will see all six teams of the IIHL Recreational Division in action against one another. First up, the Hawks look to continue their domination and extend their lead at the top of the table when they take on the Blackhawks at 8:30 pm. This will be followed the Dundalk Bulls against the Drogheda Icebreakers and an all Whalers clash as the Whalers take on the Blackrock Whalers.

All of the above games will take place at the Dundalk Ice Dome and entry is free.

Further to this, the U18 Irish National Team will participate in training in advance of the upcoming World Championship in Mexico in March. Meanwhile, the IIHA in conjunction with the Dundalk Ice Dome will hold a Learn To Play session on Saturday morning at 11:00 am.
