Friday 5th September
Stretches, stretches and more stretches to start the day! Following our morning practice, ten minutes were set aside for playground favourites-stuck in the mud or more aptly named, frozen on the ice and relay races. The object of the relay race was to carry a cone on our heads from one end of the ice to the other. Vytas awarded the winning players a can of coke!! In the morning the team got together and branded ourselves with Irish logos (transfer tattoos compliments of Beatty and Amie).
Later in the day we were informed of a pregnant moose roaming around our campsite which is apparently quite dangerous! (…There’s a Moose Loose About This Hoose…) No sightings have been recorded yet!
We are all missing home but some of us are being missed from home more than others….Kate that’s you! After our lunch we headed for the beautiful town of Norrkoping. A visit to the local hockey shop was required as well as taking in the sights. These included the Swedish teens engaging in bizarre secondary school initiations. Think public humiliation and you get the picture. Needless to say we were gob smacked.
Evening time was team time consisting of team building exercises and lots of craic. Some games quiet and some not so quiet! We got some strange looks from other visitors staying at the camp but it was all in the name of good fun.
