This year the women’s national team will be competing in the NT-Cup in Sweden. This team will consist of 18 Irish eligible players.
The team will be selected over the next couple of months with a view to have the final women’s roster selected by June 7th, 2009 so you can prepare for the commitment.
In saying this, to be fair and equitable there will be two main try outs for the National team.
The first camp was on March 14th in Belfast which, we have already completed.
The camp on May 31st represents the second try out.
Irish eligible players will be identified and evaluated at these camps and from these two camps the top 22 skaters and 3 goalies will be notified and invited to attend a final on ice try-out on June 6th.
Following the final tryout, on June 6th the top 16 players and 2 goalies will be selected to the national team with the remaining 4 players plus one goalie being named as alternates.
In order to be fair and equitable, I would encourage you to attend the camp on May 31st.
If you have not already attended the camp in Belfast you need to attend this Development Camps so you can be considered for the national team.
In order to be eligible for the National team you must be 16 or older and eligible for, or a holder of an Irish Passport.
