Women’s National Team to Compete in the NT-Cup, Sweden

This year the women’s national team will be competing in the NT-Cup in Sweden. This team will consist of 18 Irish eligible players.

The team will be selected over the next few months with a view to have the final women’s roster selected by June 7th, 2009 so you can prepare for the commitment.

In saying this to be fair and equitable there will be two main try outs for the Women’s National team. The first will coincide with the Women’s Development Camp on March 14th in Belfast. There will be another Women’s Development Camp in early May in Dundalk which will also act as the second try out.
Irish Eligible players will be identified and evaluated at these camps and from these two camps the top 20 skaters and 3 goalies will be notified and invited to attend a final try out during the first week of June.

Following the final try out in June the top 16 players and 2 goalies will be selected to the national team with the remaining 4 players plus one goalie being named as alternates.

In order to be fair and equitable, I would encourage you to attend at least one of the next two Development Camps so you can be considered for the national team.

In order to be eligible for the National team you must be 16 or older and eligible for, or a holder of an Irish Passport.
